Build Your Own Home Solar Energy System – Introduction to Solar Energy

Build Your Own Home Solar Energy System Introduction to Solar Energy

A home solar energy system uses energy from the Sun, which is a vast source of energy by the continuous combustion of hydrogen and helium. In a nutshell, the Sun is a giant hydrogen bomb.

Solar energy is radiant energy emitted by the Sun into space and a small part is received or intercepted by the Earth in the form of electromagnetic waves. Our planet is a large solar energy collector, which in turn allows the process of photosynthesis and life.

Solar power, just before reaching the Earth’s surface, has to pass through the atmosphere, in which its direction and its density are both affected, due to the interaction of radiation with matter. The direction in which sunlight strikes depends on the geographic location of the place and the time of year. In the tropics, which are near  closer to the equator energy is more abundant.

Solar energy is directly or indirectly the source of all energy sources available today, except for nuclear power, geothermal (heat from the interior of the Earth), and tidal energy. Energy from the Sun can be call “the mother” of all energies, because it has a lot more power, it will last much longer and it doesn’t harm the environment, just to name a few characteristics. In the future, humanity will be only using this type of energy. Why don’t we start using it right now?

Solar energy has many advantages because it is inexhaustible, while fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) will be depleted in the future and it is not pollutant, it really is a clean energy.

Remember that using a home solar energy system not only saves you money on your electricity bill, it also helps the world save power for its future generations.
